Our long weekend in New York State was both fun and exhausting.
My grandfather's wedding was surprisingly emotion less for all of us. Everyone seemed to feel that this is the next chapter of his life and it doesn't really impact us now that all of his children are grown. It is kind of hard to explain that so I'll move on.
Jaden has had the flu since Thursday, coming home from day care at 3pm and asking to go to bed was the first sign that he was coming down with something. We spent most of the weekend running to changing his diaper at the slightest sound. We only had one horrible mess, and of couse it was while we were eating dinner at a restuarant and I had forgotten to throw an extra pair of clothes into the car. Pete and I had to head back to our hotel half way through dinner and we gave up on heading back because of the timing. We put the babe to bed and everyone got back around when he fell asleep.
We went to an amazing state park (Lethridge I think it was called?) It is outside of Perry. It was amazing. It had a huge canyon with several water falls, amazing hiking trails, and some funny stories my family shared about their memories of the park from when they were children.
We did so much and yet it didn't seem rushed. It was an amazing weekend with my family. I'm going to miss them all. It may have been the last time we will all be together for several years, due to my uncle being in the army (as a chaplin) and being posted out in Edmonton.
I'm rambling. The fire works are starting and it's still as bright as day. I'm expecting it to be a rough night with the babe tonight.
You're still here?
