I was a great Mom until I had Kids

That's the title of the book I'm currently reading and loving.
It is one of those books I think should never be read until you actually are a parent, or you'll read it and be completely disbelieving of what it says.

The whole idea of the book is you can't really get what being a mother means until you are sitting there, watching Barney with an honours BA, having given up your whole self, covered in spit up, trying not to cry because you just cleaned the kitchen floor and it is once again covered in milk. And yet Everyone lies, saying that motherhood is Wonderful, and they are loving it.
I do love being a mother, I love reading, teaching, hugging, wrestling. But I don't love the work that comes with it. This book really looks at how as a society we all pretend that being a mother is so easy, and society undervalues and overlooks how hard it actually is. Plus all of the expectations; having dinner on the table, the house clean, my hair washed, wearing nice clothes, with a smile on my face.

Anyways, It's a great book for a tired mom, and seriously, until you have kids you can think you know what it's all about, but you don't.
