Today, thanks to one of my neighbours I met someone I think is going to be a close friend. I wasn't really sure what to think when I was handed a piece of paper and told, "Here, you have a lot in common and she needs to talk." Especially when those words were coming from my neighbour who knows everything about everyone and everything. (she told me recently exactly who was on vacation away from home that day, when they left, were returning, where they went, and who was watching their pets for the ENTIRE STREET).
Anyways, I emailed the girl, she emailed back, I went over for a play date with her adorable son. They are in the process of a complicated adoption and going through the same emotions and events that we covered last year. Looking at them and hearing what she is going through made my heart break because I knew exactly what she was talking about, I can still feel it. Their son is beautiful, exactly a year younger then Jaden. They played great together as we compared notes on our adoption experiences.
There really needs to be more supports for families as they adopt. They can really use some prayers right now.

Having a neighbour like that is both creepy and awesome! As long as she isn't a complete nutbar, be glad that you have someone watching out for you - it's like your own personal neighbourhood watch.
